Non-parametric transformations
In general, parametric objects can be edited with any standard Rhino function.

Editing will result in all associated objects in the model to be updated, as shown here.
On the other hand, changing any of the parameters of an object using standard Rhino commands will may result in all non-parametric modifications being lost at a later stage, because the parametric object will be rebuilt anew if the parent object were to be edited.
In the example above, the cylinder's height is changed, but the result would have been the same had the the point positioning of the cylinder itself been moved.
